FIT@50-Which Diet

So I have decided that low carb is my way to go. I dont think I want to go carnivore, but low carb seems to work for me. Its something sustainable. I have watched several youtube channels and feel that low carb mediterranian is the route for me. I ordered a keto mojo blood monitor. Im only .5 but seems to still be working even only that low. Im down to 390lbs. Thats a big drop for me so I will keep at it. But, Im sure it will be the same as before, I do big drops at first and then I just stop. We will see. SLEEP! I noticed when I go to bed earlier, I sleep better and longer and wake up to a lighter scale. More to come....

FIT@50- Blood Work Back

Ok, so I got my blood work back. Im not sure if I should be happy or pissed. I honestly have no idea how to process this. The tests came back in near perfect health. I was a little high on cholesterol, but everything else is in normal ranges. Thats good, but also annoying. I gain weight so fast! I thought for sure there was going to be a thyroid issue or something. Nothing, not a thing. The good thing is I can move forward with an eating plan without worries of medications. Ive also been researching different ways to eat and Im feeling good about a couple of different options. I will share on my next post what I decide, as to keep the subjects seperate. As for now, all bloodwork is done and Im in great health. Moving on!

FIT@50-Blood work done.

So after talking with several specialists in the field, almost every one of them came to the same conclusion. There must be something wrong with my thyroid. I gain weight so fast and Im always tired. Several recommended that I get my bloodwork done. Ill be honest, Im not a hospital kind of guy. If I was going to do this I might as well go all the way. I booked an appt at our local hospital and requested every blood test that could possibly be done. Might as well get them all done at once. Well apparently my veins are really hard to find. After six needle inserts in four different locations and 3 different nurses attempts, we got all the blood for the tests. The hospital said it would take 48 hours to get the results. Ill let everyone know what the deal is as soon as I get the results.

FIT@50 2. What on earth should I do

So as you will see, Im going to approach this the same way I approach any business thats in trouble. So first things first, STOP DIGGING! When a business is in trouble the first thing we do is stop digging! Stop going the same direction that got you in trouble. So for me, Im stopping sugar. I know there isnt anything good coming from the sugar intake. Im stopping immediately. Second, Do what you do best and hire the rest. In business, once you address the problem, you find an expert to solve that problem. Lets face it, 49 years of bad eating choices, I think we can all agree Im no expert in healthy food choices. So next is who do you hire? We need to go through the interview process. Someone that can address the issue. An expert. But there are so many choices. High carb, low carb, intermittent fasting, mediterranean. I have no idea which route I should go. So I must first figure that one out. That in and of itself can be a huge can of worms. I dont feel like I want to eat only meat forever. I feel the same about fruit. I dont want something extreme. It has to be something that can last a lifetime. Until then, Im slowing my carb and calorie intake as well as zero sugar. Moving onto the next step. Research is on!

FIT@50-POST1.5

Had to get dressed as we are going out tonight. Pizza! LOL. Funny making this post and anticipating pizza in an hour or so. No matter, this is real, this is life. Im not going to sugar coat anything. Im grateful no one is even reading this blog. I dont share it on social media. This is mostly for me. To require follow through. To require accountability. So what draws us to food. I cant be completely full, just finished a meal. If I know there is a half a bag of M&Ms in the other room, they will be on my mind all night until I get up and go eat them. Not a few of them, not a handfull or two. THE WHOLE BAG until there isnt another one available. Thats just what I do. I know Im scrambling a bit buy my intentions are to tackle this like any business I have tackled in the past. I will address it the same way. So I need to understand my customer, thats me. Why do I do what I do? Why do I eat the way I eat? Why can I not eat to just feel satisfied? Why must I eat until stuffed? I will be thinking about these questions for the next little while, but for now, pizza time. PS: The owner of the pizza place, Joey, is guess what???? Skinny as a rail. Figures.

Fit@50- POST1

Feb 6 was my 49th birthday. Today is Feb. 11th. I just got out of the shower and I still feel like crap. Just before climbing in the shower I jumped on the scale. 410 lbs! Such garbage. I was 60lbs less than that at Christmas. I decided to "enjoy life" until my birthday and I literally gained everything I had lost plus another 5 to spare.

As I think back at how long it took me to lose that 55lbs Im really frustrated with myself. I cant believe it. I always told myself I wasnt going to be an out of shape old man and here I am one year away from 50 and Im the largest Ive ever been. Ive been keto, mediterranian, plant based, carnivore, intermittent fasting, I even fasted for 10 days once. Here I am 49 years old and I still dont have this under control.

Ive owned over 40 companies, been successful in Real Estate, and pretty much have conquered every challenge Ive put in front of myself. Why cant I tackle this one?

Well today is the day. I dont know how, I dont know what. But, somehow, after today, Im on a journey to beat this issue. I havent found a challenge I couldnt win, so I need to look at this just like any business challenge Ive ever had.

This is my first post, on a whim, thought about doing this while in the shower. This is for myself and Ill let others follow if they so choose.

Recently purchased an iPhone so that I can post ideas on the fly. Testing it out. Now that I have this I can post up ideas while on the road. Travel time for me is usually the best time for ideas. Usually alone it gives me time to think I suppose.

Crazy Ride

I secretly knew that the last business I sold would not be my last. I tried to tell myself that I was done, but knew it wouldn't last. I recently started a new business venture and have been very excited about this one.

I started the National Self Reliance Organization. It is still a work in progress, but growing fast. I have joined forces with some of the best mentors in the business. The NSRO is a mentor company that helps individuals become more self reliant upon themselves. With over 50 mentors covering a large range of training, there really is little that can not be learned here.

The NSRO has one on one mentor programs that cover:

**All the below programs are currently available under Rocky Mountain Roundtable, the educational division under NSRO

  • Grant Writing
  • Grant Research
  • Business Start-up
  • Business Management
  • Stock Trading
  • Forex Trading
We are adding more categories weekly. I am very excited about helping others achieve financial independence.

Out for now.

Hows the home life?

I will write a lot on this subject in months to come, but I just wanted to make a quick post to get people thinking.

How is your life at home?

Do you understand that no matter how successful you try to be in the business world, if things are not good at home, you failed.

I recently read a book by Leo Weidner called The Slight Edge. It confirmed my thoughts on the subject.

So here it is:

  • You MUST spend more time with family!
  • You MUST make sure all is well with your family.
  • Do not ever let business interfere with family.
  • Everything else will fall into place once happiness is achieved at home.
More about this subject soon to come.

Back to living my dream!
